MOMENTS

You ever just have those moments?
I'm not refering to the ones when there are just too many bodies in the kitchen!
I mean the ones where you stop and count your blessings to realize
just how lucky in life you really are?
My Mom and I have been working on wedding things and today I just had to stop and smile ear-to-ear thinking about how much I am enjoying every text, email and phone call that we get to make back and forth.
In between Mom and I's contacts, comes my Dad reminding me and following up on something for me. I hope he still does this when I'm 50!  I just love it when "Dad" shoes up on my caller ID while my phone rings with my "Parent Alert" ringtone.
I do have to go back to my Mom quick and all of her talents.  She is a blogger and today she blogged about another one of her fun projects that I am so jealous of.  Check it out: http://knitandpearl-barb.blogspot.com/  She is so creative in all that she does!
Oh, I cannot leave out my husband-to-be, CEO.  He has been so patient and helpful through my 2 foot surgeries this winter, wedding planning and everything in between.  There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't make me smile.
Great childhood memories, great family, just an overall great life.  Sure I have had my down days, but why dwell on them for even a second when there are so many more great days to focus on?!
Thank you to all that make my life great!!
Have a GREAT day, filled with lots of moments!

FUZZY WUZZY

Here is my first attempt at knitting a teddy bear.  I am still learning how to read directions and since each pattern is different, it is a never ending lesson.

I thought one of these would be cute tied on top of a flannel, crocheted edged baby blanket for a gift.

Will have to do a couple of more to get things a measured up a bit better.

One of my favorite poems:

Fuzzy wuzzy was a bear.
Fuzzy wuzzy had no hair.
Fuzzy wuzzy wasn't fuzzy, was he?

GAME DAY GRUB

This last weekend was a BIG weekend for myself and my PACKERS!  Thank goodness and great job for the fantastic win aka blowout over the Falcons.
We ate good after the win with a new recipe of pulled pork sandwiches.  Who would have put coleslaw on top of their pork?  We did and we highly recommend it.  Of course there is a bit more to it, but not much.  :)
Next weekend's game day menu will be a new recipe for sloppy joes.
GO PACKERS!!!!

EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES

According to my father, I am a master of excuses!  How does that old saying go? Stick with what you are good at?!
Excuses for my absence and lack of blogs.....
Foot surgeries-Only 4 more weeks of crutches!!
Playing nurse-Cancelled the scheduled appts. for dressing change and stitch removal and decided that I could do them myself and stash the funds into the wedding account instead.
Cheerleader-We try to attend all the home basketball games that we can. I want to support my volleyball girls in all that they do. Plus, I need to keep my coach yelling up to par, right?!
Team Coordinator-I have been inducted as the new team coordinator for the local Relay for Life event. I am very excited to be back in it and will accept any and all fundraising, day of event activities, and just any ideas that will help, please.
My biggest and best excuse:
WEDDING PLANNER!
Today's accomplishments so far and one of my most exciting is booking my photographer! I contacted a very talented and creative lady from the back lands of SD.  I'm not sure who is more excited for her acceptance of the job: her or myself.  THANK YOU AUNT LISA!!!!
Check out some of her work and the fun Mosaic Monday stuff on her blog: Sall's Country Life
Watch out Florida, here we come!!!

TOO MANY OPTIONS

I am on the possible search for a new sewing machine. C has given me clearance on getting one and can you believe that I am dragging my feet on saying yes?! I have reviewed some online and boy was that a bad place to begin.  Way too many options and places to search. I want some extra bells and whistles but only need a few. I have a few "must haves" of a zipper foot, stretch stithes and good choice of variable stitch options. Right now I have the very basic machine and thinking to take a couple of steps up to get me through many years to come of sewing projects.
I am open and begging for ideas.  PLEASE, PLEASE, OH PLEASE?!

BORROWED AND BLUE

Greetings from the cold North.  It has been awhile since I have been able to blog.  Between another foot surgery (which is why I had to borrow a picture), college basketball and new projects, I am bouncing from here to there and never actually leaving the recliner.
I am back on crutches for 6 more weeks, but healing good and taking advantage of the last run of complete down time before returning the go-go-go lifestyle I cant and dont seem to want to change.
We are in the midst of the 6 month long college basketball season as well, which means C is always looking for the newest stats, what  possible recruit is signing on and when the next Kansas Jayhawks game is airing.  I am breaking down to enjoy the sport more and more each season and especially like March Madness! But I still wear my UNC hat vs. his Kansas.  (We arent married yet!)
I am hoping to post pictures of my newest projects that include crocheting edging around a baby blanket and matching burp cloth (no there is no hidden meaning behind me starting these projects.)  My mom taught me over the Christmas break and I cant wait for my next lesson.  I have also begun work on a sweater vest for myself.  It is a pretty easy pattern to most Im sure, but doing all those stitches, it would be a heartbreak to go back and find a mistake dont you think?!
Oh, here is my lunch and boy is the delivery boy a handsome one.  I just may have to hit on this one!!  :P (It is C.)
Have a great day!
